My Week Writing

This week for writing we had to do a "show don't tell" about our  Tūranagawaewae it was quiet hard because after a while I ran out of things that describe Christchurch. Here is my show don't tell.

My Tūranagawaewae is filled with beautiful plants.

My Tūranagawaewae makes me feel safe.

My Tūranagawaewae  is cold and fresh in the morning and is hot and sunny in the afternoon.

My Tūranagawaewae  is where all my family lives.

My Tūranagawaewae  is where I was born and grew up.

My Tūranagawaewae  is where I see the things I see.

My Tūranagawaewae  is where I belong.

    My Tūranagawaewae  is my home.

My Tūranagawaewae  is where I live.

The old house on the hill

Hay everyone for writing  I have been writing a story called the old house on the hill. And in that story I had to include adjectives, similes and verbs. My goal was use a range of written features to engage the audience. Thanks bye.

The old house on the hill sat underneath the bright moon. The man inside passed the halls waiting for his companion to come. The big black shadow appeared perching himself on a branch. His beady yellow eyes darted at the window where the old man was standing. The bird knew he would be in trouble. Soon their eyes were locked on each other and it turned into a staring contest. The man won. The bird then gathered himself together and sliced through the wind and flopped into the window. He landed on the man. The man raged at the bird telling him that he was an hour late and that he had spent an hour by himself worrying. Words could not say how angry he was. But soon after, they got over it and ate tea. The man and the bird ate in silence. Neither the man or the bird dared to look up. They nearly had their head on their plates. The wind cracked and the wolves howled. Then the man broke the silence and asked why he was an hour late. The bird sat ignoring him for a while. Until the man got frustrated and slammed down his fist. However, slamming down his fist did not get the bird to speak. The man then calmed himself down and asked again. But he would not answer. As the man was going about to ask again the bird blabbered out ‘I was at the forbidden place’. The man's eyes twitched as he asked why?. Then the bird said…..

left behind narrative writing

hello people for the past two day we have been doing narrative writing my goal was to complete a peace of writing. so here it is hope you like it.

Left behind The sky was red and orange like the sun but darker. I saw broken bits of wood, a sword and a ladder made out of rope and wood flapping in the wind, it was cold and dark and I didn’t know what was going on. I thought I was trapped alone on that big island, but I was wrong. I didn’t know at that time but I wasn’t alone. I was hungry, cold and tired and wondering how I was here and why. I walked and walked but getting to know where. But finally at last I had found some sort of cave. I was confused because there were no bears but I brushed it off. And got some rest. In the morning I went hunting for food. I tried fishing by making a spare out of a stick. But no luck, so I looked for trees which was easy because the place was covered with them. I found some berries and ate them. As I was eating I heard a growl, I froze with shock shaking. Then I heard nothing so then I thought it was the wind. I collected some berries and walked back to the cave. It had been a long day and it was getting dark as I fell asleep. I heard the wind and the creatures grown. Then I heard a thud as it echoed through the cave. I woke up alarmed and frightened as it continued. Then as I rubbed my eyes I saw a monsterest shadow. I stayed still camouflaushing with my surroundings. Thankfully it left as I wiped the sweat of my face. I saw something out the corner of my eye. I peered my face out of the cave it was flying. I was shocked as I smiled. I could get off this island. I ran outside as they lowered their ladder. I was saved. I was finally off that island.

Mary‌ ‌mother‌ ‌of‌ ‌god‌ ‌ ‌ Mary‌ ‌was‌ ‌born‌ ‌in‌ ‌Galilee;‌ ‌she‌ ‌was‌ ‌a‌ ‌Jewesh‌ ‌woman‌ ‌of‌ ‌Nazareth.‌ ‌The‌ ‌wife‌ ‌of‌ ‌Joseph,‌ ‌mother‌ ‌ of‌ ‌Jesus.‌ ‌Mary‌ ‌was‌ ‌told‌ ‌by‌ ‌an‌ ‌angel‌ ‌Gabriel‌ ‌that‌ ‌she‌ ‌would‌ ‌be‌ ‌pregnant‌ ‌with‌ ‌Jesus.‌ ‌Mary‌ ‌was‌ ‌ shocked.‌ ‌as‌ ‌Mary‌ ‌got‌ ‌pregnant‌ ‌with‌ ‌Jesus‌ ‌through‌ ‌immaculate‌ ‌conception.‌ ‌Mary‌ ‌wondered‌ ‌ how.‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ Mary‌ ‌and‌ ‌Joseph‌ ‌went‌ ‌to‌ ‌Bethlehem‌ ‌where‌ ‌Mary‌ ‌gave‌ ‌birth‌ ‌to‌ ‌Jesus‌ ‌in‌ ‌a‌ ‌manger.‌ ‌There‌ ‌were‌ ‌ some‌ ‌shepherds‌ ‌in‌ ‌that‌ ‌part‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌country‌ ‌who‌ ‌were‌ ‌taking‌ ‌care‌ ‌of‌ ‌their‌ ‌flocks.‌ ‌An‌ ‌angel‌ ‌ appeared‌ ‌to‌ ‌them‌ ‌and‌ ‌they‌ ‌were‌ ‌afraid.‌ ‌But‌ ‌the‌ ‌angel‌ ‌said‌ ‌to‌ ‌them‌ ‌don’t‌ ‌be‌ ‌afraid‌ ‌I‌ ‌am‌ ‌here‌ ‌with‌ ‌ good‌ ‌news‌ ‌for‌ ‌you.‌ ‌This‌ ‌very‌ ‌day‌ ‌in‌ ‌David's‌ ‌town‌ ‌your‌ ‌Savior ‌was‌ ‌born.‌ ‌ ‌ ‌And‌ ‌this‌ ‌I‌ ‌will‌ ‌prove‌ ‌to‌ ‌you.‌ ‌You‌ ‌will‌ ‌find‌ ‌a‌ ‌baby‌ ‌wrapped‌ ‌in‌ ‌cloths‌ ‌lying‌ ‌in‌ ‌a‌ ‌manger.‌ ‌When‌ ‌the‌ ‌ angel‌ ‌left‌ ‌the‌ ‌herds‌ ‌men‌ ‌went‌ ‌to‌ ‌the‌ ‌manger‌ ‌and‌ ‌to‌ ‌their‌ ‌surprise‌ ‌there‌ ‌stood‌ ‌Mary,‌ ‌Joseph‌ ‌and‌ ‌ baby‌ ‌Jesus‌ ‌wrapped‌ ‌in‌ ‌cloths‌ ‌lying‌ ‌down‌ ‌in‌ ‌hay.‌ ‌The‌ ‌shepherds‌ ‌told‌ ‌Mary‌ ‌and‌ ‌Joseph‌ ‌about‌ ‌ the‌ ‌angel.‌ ‌Mary‌ ‌remembered‌ ‌all‌ ‌these‌ ‌things‌ ‌and‌ ‌thought‌ ‌deeply‌ ‌about‌ ‌them.‌ ‌The‌ ‌shepherds‌ ‌ went‌ ‌back‌ ‌singing‌ ‌praises‌ ‌to‌ ‌god‌ ‌for‌ ‌all‌ ‌they‌ ‌had‌ ‌seen‌ ‌and‌ ‌heard.‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ Mary‌ ‌gave‌ ‌birth‌ ‌to‌ ‌Jesus‌ ‌in‌ ‌Bethlehem‌ ‌she‌ ‌raised‌ ‌him‌ ‌until‌ ‌he‌ ‌was‌ ‌old‌ ‌enough‌ ‌to‌ ‌go‌ ‌out‌ ‌and‌ ‌ preach‌ ‌the‌ ‌word‌ ‌of‌ ‌god.‌ ‌Mary‌ ‌was‌ ‌with‌ ‌Jesus‌ ‌until‌ ‌he‌ ‌died‌ ‌and‌ ‌took‌ ‌care‌ ‌of‌ ‌his‌ ‌body.‌ ‌Mary‌ ‌was‌ ‌ the‌ ‌mother‌ ‌of‌ ‌god.‌ ‌

Whats in the bag

Today's findings from what's in the bag.

Description

Today we played what’s in the bag. For this game we used six marbles. Four green and two blue. We took turns predicting what colour marbles we would draw from the bag.

From the data we had (marble colours) I predicted the first marble would be green.
The probability of this happening was 4/6.

As we drew more marbles from the bag the probability of getting  green marbles became lower.
3/5, 2/4 or 50% at this point there was an equal chance of picking either green or blue.

Summary

I found the game very fun and interesting. It showed me how to base my predictions on data so I had a good chance of knowing what color would be next.
